Somos um laboratório de pesquisa da Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS), criado em 2018 com foco na formação de profissionais que atuam nas áreas de restauração ecológica e conservação da biodiversidade. Temos interesse na aplicação do conhecimento científico para ações de extensão e na tomada de decisão, com a interação entre os aspectos biológicos, socioeconômicos, políticos e legais da adequação ambiental.

Research lines:
Applied ecology
Research aimed at the use of information on biodiversity and ecological services in the context of conservation, environmental management, species management, forensic ecology, environmental restoration, biomonitoring, sustainable use of biodiversity and other social demands.
Ecosystem ecology
Research in this area aims to characterize, predict and understand the factors that affect the magnitude and stability of ecosystem processes, which in turn are defined by any process that affects the flow of matter and / or energy (eg, primary or secondary productivity , trophic interactions, decomposition, translocation and excretion of nutrients, etc ...) through organisms and abiotic components of ecosystems.
Ecology of populations and communities
Research focused on understanding mechanisms that generate variations in population patterns (eg population size, reproduction, movement, occupation) and metapopulations (eg colonization dynamics and spotting extinctions) or address issues related to understanding processes that generate species coexistence, including interaction network approaches, metacommunity ecology, trade-offs and modern theory of coexistence.
